Overview
Creating a saved area involves defining a custom geographic boundary within the map interface. You can draw any shape that suits your specific needs and save it as an area. Saved areas help you focus your analysis by confining data and actions to within these defined boundaries, ensuring a more organized and relevant mapping experience.
Create Shape
Creating an area shape involves using the map interface to draw a custom boundary that outlines a specific region of interest.
Select shape tool
You can select the create shape tool, choose the desired shape type (such as polyline, square, or radius), and then draw the shape directly on the map.
Select Created Shape
Once defined, you can select the created shape, whether it is one or multiple shapes, to form an area.
Save Area
You can save this shape as an area and give it a name and provide a description detailing the intended use and goals of the saved area. This information will help you and your team easily find and distinguish between different saved areas. The area shape will then be available in the "available areas" map interface areas panel.
Map areas are confined to the map template in which they were created and are not shared globally across the Datascape portal.
