Overview
Shape layers are geometric boundaries on a map used to highlight and analyze specific areas of interest. They can take various forms, such as polygons, circles (radius), or squares, and help filter data to focus on what's within the defined area. Shape layers are customizable in terms of appearance and can be adjusted to fit precise regions.
Create Shape
To create a shape, select the create shape tool located at the top center of the map interface. By default, a polyline is selected, but you can change this by clicking the dropdown and selecting your desired tool. The available options include a polyline, a square, and a radius.
Fill Area, Draw, and Data-Driven Shape features are coming soon to Datascape. If you would like to see these prioritized, please let us know here.
Filtered Shape Data
When you start creating shapes, only the data within those shapes will be searched, and you will see only the results contained within those shapes.
